2020 Highlights From Retreat Design

2020 Highlights

What a massive year!

2020 signalled our 13th year in operation and with it some major changes and growth. Beginning the year with a busy start, we were hit with the Covid-19 restrictions in late March and were forced to adapt to temporary closures in our Italian factories as well as extra requirements for social distancing measures on worksites. We decided to use this time to plan our move to a bigger & more prominent showroom location in Shenton Park. By mid year, our business had well and truly picked up with demand for home improvements strong. Throughout the year we have been working on some impressive projects spanning a wide range of styles and budgets with a big push to get projects finished by Christmas. Our new showroom has taken second place to our current work but we are hoping to have it 100% complete by January. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our new space with a launch party early next year.

We are pleased that our product offering has diversified in such a way that we can now create beautiful and unique kitchens and bathrooms in the low, mid and luxury price range depending on your taste and requirements with brands such as Arredo3, ArritalEffeti on offer. This is very exciting for us here at Retreat Design as we feel we now have an option for everybody without comprising on style or quality. We have also continued our work with builders, developers and architects supplying cabinetry for multi residential projects whilst maintaining good growth with our bread and butter projects – kitchen and bathroom renovations.

We would like to extend our warm gratitude to our clients, suppliers and manufacturers for your support during this challenging year and we wish everyone a safe, happy & healthy Christmas. Retreat Design will be closed from 22nd December until 11th January.

Here’s to bigger and better things in 2021 with less disruptions!

Below we have compiled a ‘snapshot’ of some of our renovation & new build projects which have kept us busy in 2020.

Retreat Design is moving

3D Concept of our new showroom at 156 Onslow Rd, Shenton Park

South Fremantle Project

This impressive 1800 sqm residence in South Fremantle includes a main house with kitchen, 4 x bathrooms, laundry and living room cabinetry. A guesthouse at the back is well equipped with a second kitchen, office, bathrooms and rooftop terrace to take in views over the Port city.
Working directly with the client who had a clear sense of her own personal design style, Retreat Design supplied a mix of Italian cabinetry throughout the home. The end result is a residence which blends perfectly into the local area, brimming with personality and all the mod cons of a new industrial style build.

Cottesloe Project

As part of a new build, Retreat Design supplied the kitchen, scullery & hallway cabinetry in this beautiful new beachside home.
Working with the client’s interior designer Jane Agnew and architect Simon Rodrigues, we designed a functional kitchen layout that is formed around the lift platform and display cabinetry.

Arrital AK_B08 cabinetry in walnut veneer with a graphite frame door & AK_Project cabinetry in Fenix Piombo Doha were used for the main kitchen. The scullery is a combination of Arrital cabinetry in matte white Fenix NTM & walnut veneer. Top of the range appliances were selected such a Gaggennau Vario stove & oven and a VZUG combi steam oven for the scullery. Integrated Sub-Zero fridge, wine fridge & freezer also take pride of place in the main kitchen with some statement graphite handles to add interest. The walnut veneer ‘Majestic’ dining table extends from the island bench and its 30deg chamfered edge detail is beautiful.  Attention to detail & impeccable finishes really make this kitchen a centrepiece of the home. Our client who is an avid cook has all the functionality of a chef’s kitchen with space for a large family to socialise and entertain.

Inglewood Project

Retreat Design completed a full home renovation of this single story residence in Inglewood including the kitchen, laundry, alfresco, kids bathroom & ensuite. The complete transformation has made way for  an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area which overlooks the pool area and alfresco kitchen. The client’s brief was to create a modern contemporary space which was sympathetic to the style of the home. Finish selections were kept neutral & light with a focus on good quality fixtures and functional elements in the kitchen. The backyard alfresco is an entertainer’s dream overlooking the pool and outdoor dining area. Featuring a bbq, oven, rangehood, dishwasher, ice maker, bar fridge, wine fridge, sink, TV & fan this area is completely self sufficient for parties and outdoor get togethers.

A simple yet stylish renovation of the kids bathroom and ensuite as well as the laundry at the back of the kitchen ensures all areas of the home are modernised.
