Retreat Design was engaged by the owners of one of only two certified passive homes in WA, Abbett Haus, to design and manufacture the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry for their beach side abode. We were really proud to be part of this design and the home was a knock out at last years Open House, with lines of people waiting patiently for a sneak peek of the lovely sustainable home.
Retreat Design director, Steve Johnson, worked with Leanhaus Architects on the design with the design brief to provide a quality and timeless kitchen design that would meet the sustainable ethos of the Abbett Haus building.
Retreat Design kitchens are by nature sustainable as the cabinetry is built to exceptionally high specifications (read here for more info!), meaning it stands the test of time, remaining a quality and stylish addition to homes for many years. White cabinetry from Arrital’s AK_Project collection was used to stay in keeping with the mid century modern feel of the house which ensured the natural stone flooring remained the hero of the open plan living and dining area.
Partnering with local businesses that are forging new paths in the building industry is professionally and personally rewarding.
