We absolutely loved bringing this charming cottage-style kitchen in Crawley back to life.

Our client has a beautiful appreciation for all things antique, timeless and full of character, and her vision for the space was never about creating something brand new. Instead, she wanted to breathe fresh life into her existing kitchen while preserving the warmth, personality and charm that made the room feel so special in the first place.

Set against the backdrop of her stunning garden, the kitchen already had so much going for it. There was an unmistakable sense of authentic cottage character throughout the space — the kind of lived-in warmth and individuality that can be difficult to recreate in a modern home. We wanted to enhance those qualities rather than take them away.

With this in mind, we chose to work with the existing cabinetry, giving it a completely new lease on life with a beautiful Dulux colour. The soft, considered tone was selected specifically to complement the surrounding garden, creating a natural visual connection between the greenery outside and the heart of the home inside. The result is a colour palette that feels calm, cohesive and beautifully at home within the character of the property.

To complete the transformation, we introduced fresh new benchtops, instantly giving the kitchen a renewed sense of brightness and functionality while still allowing the original cabinetry to remain the hero of the space. Our client then added her own personal touches, selecting new appliances, a sink and tapware to bring the kitchen together and make it work beautifully for everyday life.

We particularly love how the finished space balances old and new. The original cabinetry and cottage-style details retain the soul of the kitchen, while the refreshed colour, new benchtops and carefully chosen finishes give the room a fresh and contemporary feel without compromising its character.

The result is a beautifully refreshed kitchen that feels as though it has always belonged in the home — warm, inviting and full of personality. It’s a wonderful example of how you don’t always need to start from scratch to create a remarkable transformation. Sometimes, the most beautiful results come from recognising what is already there, preserving the character, and giving it a thoughtful new beginning.
