How To Maintain Your Kitchen

So you’ve just renovated your home and you’re over the moon! A freshly renovated kitchen looks sleek and clean, but how do we keep it this way? These are our top tips for maintaining that freshly renovated kitchen look!

Keep it Minimal

We love an eclectic look here at Retreat Design, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up with. If you’re after a simple form of living that is easy to clean and maintain then we recommend keeping countertop accessories to a minimum. Crowded spaces harbour messes more easy than the empty ones. It may also mean everyone in the house might be more likely to put their things away! A positive for everyone.

Use The Correct Cleaning Products

There are an abundance of cleaning products out there, it can be hard to decipher which ones you should be using. Different materials may required different sprays. For example, Caesarstone bench tops have been recommended to use warm soapy water. It is important to research which products best suit your materials in order to increase their longevity.

Stay Organised

It’s so easy to fall into the habit of just throwing things into cupboards and drawers. We recommend placing organisers, containers and tubs into your storage areas to seperate items by category. This way, you will easily be able to locate things and know instantly where to put them once done. Not only that, but an organised cupboard looks aesthetically pleasing, and who doesn’t want that!

Create a Routine

Being able to switch into autopilot mode when cleaning the kitchen is the surest way to keep up to date with the chores. Creating routines such as cleaning up after every meal, weekly fridge clean outs, nightly bin take outs and daily vacuuming or sweeping can really change the game when it comes to maintaining the kitchen. Knowing exactly what to do helps save time and will increase the longevity of your kitchen. So create a routine and stick to it!

Everyone loves their kitchen, it is the heart of the home where people gather to cook and socialise. Putting some love back into your kitchen will keep it looking as pristine as it was when it was first renovated. These tips will help you keep your kitchen looking fresh!
